Reverend Terrilyn (Terri) Lemons is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At
the age of twelve, she accepted Christ as her savior. The Lord orders the steps of this
anointed pastor, teacher, and counselor. The Bible and the Holy Spirit have guided her
life, spiritual growth, and call into ministry. The Holy Spirit led Pastor Lemons to read
Isaiah 61:1, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to
preach to the poor…heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and open
the prison to those who are bound.”


She accepted her call to ministry and was commissioned and ordained as an Elder
in Full Connection by the North Georgia United Methodist Conference and appointed
associate pastor at Cascade United Methodist Church for eight years. She served in the
pulpit ministry at Cascade as a member of the pastoral leadership team during the
Sunday worship services. She provided leadership to the Nurture Division which
included Discipleship, Marriage, Christian Education, Health, and many other ministries.
Rev. Lemons has served as Senior Pastor of Newnan Chapel United Methodist
Church for eight years where she started the Marriage ministry and Prayer ministry.
Restarted the Dance and Greeters ministry and the parsonage was dedicated as the Youth
center. Under her leadership several renovations (kitchen, parking lot), and building
upgrades were completed. She is Vice Chair of the North Georgia Board of Ordained
Ministry. She served as one of the Service Coordinators for the North Georgia Annual
Conference and is a past Chair of the Southwest District Board of Ordained Ministry.


She graduated with honors and received her Master of Divinity degree from
Gammon Theological Seminary at The Interdenominational Theological Center. She
received the Gammon Theological Seminary Highest female G.P.A. Award and served as
the student representative for the Gammon Seminary Board of trustees. She is a second
career commissioned pastor with expertise in administration and healthcare. She has a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Louisiana, Lafayette, Louisiana; and
dual masters from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia one in Master of Public Health
Administration and the other in Master of Nursing – Community health. Pastor Lemons is
a Board-Certified Registered Nurse and a Board-Certified Primary Care Family Nurse
Practitioner. With more than twenty (20) years of nursing and administrative experience,
she has provided healthcare services at universities, where she developed the student
Health Clinics and served students, staff, and faculty. She has been cited among
Outstanding Young Women of America.


Rev. Terri Lemon’s desire is to be in the perfect will of God by preaching,
teaching, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She has served as a speaker at several
churches in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dallas, Texas, Newnan and Atlanta, Georgia, as
well at the Ben Hill/Cascade UMC Marriage Retreat. Rev. Lemons is the widow of
Lovell Lemons and devoted daughter of Loretta Davis.
